Final Deliverable

Research Question

How can we improve the museum experience for visitors?

“We Need to Make Knowledge Accessible”

Visitors struggled to understand the context of the work due to museum descriptions, while staff found it hard to determine what to include.

After conducting a usability test with both the paper and digital prototypes, we created the finalized app and design.

“Museums are viewed as a Luxury”

The key findings from this research focused on how often times the cost, accessibility, and lack of public transportation to a museum can deter a person from visiting.

Based on the findings, the research questions was revised to the following:

How can we build an application that solves the following frustrations for users?

1) Visitor cannot easily navigate through exhibits

2) Visitors have trouble accessing information about artwork

3) Visitors want to document their experiences

Prototypes

Based on the feedback we made several prototypes, first working on paper before moving to Figma and creating two versions of the prototype. These prototypes were used for further usability test with 8 individuals.
